If you’re looking for a Tropic Skin Care review, to see if this is the right MLM business in the UK, then this is for you.

When we first started out in MLM, we looked at over 100 different network marketing companies as we really wanted to make sure that we found the very best company not just for ourselves but for other people living in the UK right now.

Below are our findings on the Tropic Skin Care business opportunity. You will learn all about the company, the products, the good points and the bad points so that you can then see if this MLM company is going to be right for you or not.

Tropic Skin Care Review – About The Company

Pure. Honest. Effective. These are the three principles that lie at the heart of Tropic Pure Plant Skin Care. Tropic Skin Care is a British born and bred company.

In 2005, Susan Ma had a vision to create a skin care range that is 100% purely plant derived, and is both effective and affordable. After collaborating with cosmetic chemists, traditional herbalists and microbiologists, in 2007 the company was born.

Susan Ma was a contestant on The Apprentice TV show in 2011, in fact Lord Sugar is now a 50% stake holder in the company. And in the last 8 years the company has gone from strength to strength, increasing its product range which is derived from 100% pure plant extracts that are naturally effective on all skin types.

The product was initially sold on a demonstrational basis at markets, shows, exhibitions & festivals and 2013 launched its social sales team. They hold on to the ideal of natural vegan and cruelty free products that feed and nourish your skin. Their product range includes skin care, body care and makeup.

  • Vegan
  • Natural
  • Cruelty free

The company mission is to provide efficacy, excellence and integrity in all that they do. From responsible business practices to customer service, we will continue to aspire to be the best we possibly can for our customers, and for our environment!

All of the products are from natural origins and use only purely plant derived ingredients. They never use paraffin, petrolatum, petro-chemicals, parabens or any other synthetic ingredients that not only have no nutritional benefit for your skin, but have also shown to have a long term damaging impact on your skin and health.

Not many people realise that the average person puts almost 100 chemicals on themselves every day before they even leave home. It’s amazing that the average amount of chemicals in every household is about 250. The Tropic products are not only cleaner than the ones in the supermarkets but also cheaper than what you will find on the high street or supermarket

  • Simple – There are no bells and whistles, just good, pure, honest products, delivered to you with love.
  • Quality – Products are handmade in small batches to ensure freshness when they reach you.
  • Service – To ensure that the highest standards of customer service are maintained at all times.
  • Information – All ingredients are in plain English so you don’t need a chemistry degree to understand exactly what you put onto your skin.

  • Animal Testing – They only on themselves.
  • Animal Products – Vegan Society Approved.
  • Genetic Engineering – None of the products contain genetically engineered or modified organisms.
  • Environment – They care about our environment and try to reduce their carbon footprint where ever they can, and aim to be as green as possible in terms of our packaging, waste disposal, and also use sustainable ingredients in their products.

How Does MLM Work?

Multi-level marketing (MLM) is a marketing strategy in which the sales force is compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of the other salespeople that they recruit. This recruited sales force is referred to as the participant’s “downline”, and can provide multiple levels of compensation.

Network marketing is a duplication business. It works by everybody becoming a product of their own business. So you basically buy a set amount of products which you use each and every month. Every company has its own minimum spend we could not find any information on the Tropic company website as to what this would be, which is a little worrying. This can range up to £100 with other companies. A percentage of this retail spend is then distributed to each and every person in the business.

The Good Points of the Company

The main good points about this company are that you can not only make good money but you also own an ethical business. Building your own network marketing business is one of the best things you can do with your time and money right now. With this company you also make a positive difference on our planet which is great.

The Bad Points of the Company

The bad points about this company are that it would seem their business modal adopts that more akin to a direct selling company. As an ambassador for Tropic Skin Care, you would be either doing a 1 to 1 Spa facial or hosting a Tropic Pamper experience or selling products from their brochure.

Let me explain, direct selling is often confused with MLM because of the large number of MLM companies that are a member of the DSA (Direct Selling Association) Direct selling is more of a 1 on 1 or door to door business opportunity like Avon, Kirby or Pampered Chief which requires you to sell a product or experience either by one to one contact or by hosting a party in order to earn a commission or bonuses.

Although this is very similar to some MLM programs, it is NOT the same. Coincidently there is also no mention of their affiliation if any with the DSA on their website.

In addition to this it would appear that you would require to be trained on how to offer the Facial Spa experience before you can then go out and offer and sell the experience to others, much like starting your own beauty therapy business. But without the overheads of renting the retail space to start your business.

There is no mention on the company website as to what the business start-up costs will be, Although we did find out from other sources that the start-up cost might possibly be £70.. So when you suddenly discover what the initial investment could be we feel that the lack of transparency on this point could be misleading.

The fact that this company only operates in the UK is also a negative point because if you know people in other countries or have friends who know people in other countries then you do not have the option of going International.

The other Negative about this company is it is a relatively young company so therefore only has a very limited product range and is more likely to go out of business than some of the similar more established companies.

Summary

We do believe that Tropic Skin Care is a good company. The fact that they are young, you can make good money and you are helping the environment makes this a good business opportunity. Having sad that, we personally decided to go with a different company in the end, who also distributes pure, safe and botanical products. We just felt that having an international option, a larger product range offered less risk and higher rewards.

Thanks for reading.
